Who WE are. STAR Co-op of Pittsburgh is a secular, inclusive homeschool co-op. We believe in science, equality, kindness, and the power of community. We offer parent-led academic and enrichment classes, social opportunities, and support for homeschool parents.
We are able to offer classes at low rates because we believe that community is built when everyone pitches in. All returning adult members of our organization agree to teach and assist in classes. When you join us, it is a commitment, and we make a commitment to you and your family as well. When you join STAR, you join a community that is here to encourage and support your family's unique homeschool journey.
We are commited to sustainable growth as a learning community. Each season we open a limited number of spaces based on how many new families we feel we can support. New members are given a mentor to help introduce you to the group and provide you with the support you need to feel sucessful and included in our community.
