- Adults are welcome to teach in their own style within the subjects on the schedule. We don't limit to one teaching style or method.
- Adults will be asked to assist in classes. Assisting requires no preparation or instructing responsibilities.
- We ask that no one attends while sick. If you are leading a class and will be absent, please inform a board member asap.
- Returning members may also be asked to mentor new members. Mentors serve as a friendly point of contact for questions about teaching, co-op, or homeshooling in general.
Membership Requirements
- A co-op member’s oldest child must be at least five years old by the start of the co-op year.
- Each child must have an adult present at each co-op session that is responsible for him or her.
- Each member will teach at least one class during the course of the year. This helps “share the load” of teaching and ensure that there are classes for all ages. Co-teaching with another adult and sharing the responsibilities of preparing and instructing is an option. (Please do not be intimidated by the idea of teaching. We have a friendly family environment and will be happy to give any help and support you need!)
- All adults who teach and/or assist in classes must have current criminal and child abuse clearances. Those living in Pennsylvania less than 10 years also need to have an FBI Check.
Student Information
- Students will be placed in classes for the grade level in which they were registered.
- Students need to bring their own backpack, food and supplies.
- Students should come prepared for class, participate positively, and be respectful.
